Holland Basham Architects was retained by Creighton University to design and provide full architectural services for a new 90,000 s.f. residence hall on the university campus. The facility was the first new residence hall on Creighton’s campus in twenty years. The suite-style residential hall provided 4-student suites with two beds in each of the two bedrooms, living room, kitchenette, and compartmentalized bathroom facilities for multiple users. Accessible suites on each floor level comply with the American with Disabilities Act and the Fair Housing Act. A total of 5 accessible suites were provided which accommodated 2 students each. Creighton’s goal was to build an apartment-like facility which had a residential, rather than institutional, feel. Community rooms allowed for interaction among students from each floor level. ID cards and video cameras provided restricted entry for security.

In addition, HBA also provided design services for the Java Jay cafe located on the first floor of McGloin Residence Hall.
