Level (3) Communications
Broomfield, Colorado

Holland Basham Architects was retained by Level (3) Communications to design and provide full architectural services for the new world headquarters office campus located in Broomfield, Colorado.

Adjacent to Level 3's first campus, the new campus was comprised of 5 buildings on a 55-acre site totaling over 1,000,000 s.f. The new campus project represented one part of a master plan that eventually gave Level (3) a campus encompassing over 3,000,000 s.f. and capable of accommodating over 7,000 employees. 

Raised flooring was provided in 60% of the first floor of each facility to provide efficient cable access. Redundant mechanical and electrical systems were provided and installed outside of the immediate work areas in order to eliminate “down-time” of the communications elements.

Specialty areas included: a network operations center, cafeteria, fitness room, jogging paths, internal courtyard, training, and research facilities.  

A second phase campus was designed and constructed, providing an additional 1,000,000 s.f. of office space and parking.
