Holland Basham Architects was retained by Deere and Company to provide design for a 140,000 s.f. factory and a 13,000 s.f. connected office structure in Rock Hill, South Carolina. The new factory was a joint venture between Deere and Company and a Japanese manufacturing company to develop transaxles for John Deere farm equipment. The factory was constructed of insulated precast concrete panels. The office structure was clad with a reinforced metal panel system which was a contrast to the factory backdrop. This design was also developed as a prototype for future factories around the country.
