A successful project integrates several disciplines to create an environment that functions as a whole.  All of the elements -- architecture, interior design, electrical, mechanical and structural engineering -- are coordinated in order to achieve a total design solution.

The true practice of interior design encompasses a multitude of tasks and levels of expertise.  Universally, we begin with programming, the gathering, analysis and synthesis of collected information.  We identify current functions, quantities and adjacencies, and with our clients’ input, project future planning needs and goals.  The thorough execution of this phase is critical to the continued success of the design process.  This approach applies to all project types and sizes.

The process continues with schematic design and space planning.  We begin to give form and scale to the components.  In design development, schematic work becomes more detailed and refined.  Consideration is given to issues of function, adjacency, circulation, code compliance, ADA, lighting, acoustics, and millwork.

A design theme is developed that responds to our clients’ image, objectives and budget.  Our experience has shown us that good design does not have to be expensive to be effective.  Selections of interior finish materials, furnishings and equipment are developed with the client.  Advancements in project quality development address ergonomic factors, durability, maintenance, health code compliance, economic and functional considerations more than ever.  As our clients continue to become more sophisticated and aware of these quality factors, we as designers need to respond to all of these issues.  The aesthetic composition of an interior space can be impacted greatly by the selection and integration of materials and finishes.  Appropriate choices paired with an appropriate layout will increase productivity and efficiency.  Anxiety and discomfort can be reduced in sensitive settings.  The growing availability of choices in interior materials, furnishings and equipment contribute to creating a more functional and pleasant environment.
